Twelve pumping stations, 41 km of main canal lining and a supervisory control layer, delivered as a single turnkey contract for a regional water administration in Karakalpakstan.
Pumping equipment installed in the late 1980s was running far outside its efficiency envelope, unlined canal sections leaked into the substrate, and the administration had no measured picture of where the losses occurred. Any repair programme without instrumentation would have been guesswork.
Nima Xizmat was engaged to survey the whole network, design the rehabilitation, supply and install the equipment, and hand over a system the client’s own operators could run — with a single contract holding all of it together.
Six weeks of flow measurement and condition survey along the main canal preceded any design decision.
Survey and hydraulic model
Flow, head and condition survey of 41 km of canal and 12 station sites; a calibrated hydraulic model used to size every replacement.
Pumping stations
Twelve stations re-equipped with new pump sets, soft starters, switchgear and instrumentation; existing civil structures retained and repaired.
Canal lining
18.6 km of the highest-loss sections lined; inlet and outlet nodes rebuilt with measuring flumes.
Control and telemetry
Station-level PLCs, radio telemetry back to a dispatch room, and a SCADA layer with a per-station water balance.
Commissioning and training
Wet commissioning of every station, and a four-week operator programme with written procedures in Uzbek and Russian.
Warranty and service
A 24-month warranty with a spares package and quarterly scheduled service visits.
Figures below are taken from the client’s own dispatch records for the 2025 irrigation season, twelve months after handover.
From 29.4% to 20.3% of intake volume
Tail-end sections now served through the full season
Pump sets operating inside their efficiency band
Across the first full season after handover
